Since the first prototype AH-1W Aircrew Procedures Trainer
(APT) was built at NAVAIR’s Manned Flight Simulator
(MFS) in 1993, JFTI employees have supported the development
of prototype training devices to be delivered to the USN,
USMC, and the USA. The training products we design and build
range from an instrumented aircraft cockpit to a fully functional
weapon system trainer, and are used around the world. The
full flight training devices can be installed in existing
facilities or produced in a self-contained transportable
enclosure, which becomes the operating facility.
Our engineers, scientists, and professionals work side-by-side
with their government equivalents to deliver high-fidelity
training solutions. We support multiple projects and
maintain the MFS Data Library for all devices developed and
delivered by the MFS team. Our work at MFS includes
the following functions:
- Project Management
- Requirements Management
- Systems Engineering
- Software Development
- Modeling
- Interfacing
- Graphical User Interfaces (GUI)
- Hardware Development
- Power
- I/O Systems
- Aircraft Equipment Interfaces
- Control Systems
- Mechanical Design & Fabrication
- Electrical Design & Fabrication
- Data Management
- Parts Control
- Visual System & Database Design
- Administrative & Financial Management Support
