John F. Taylor, Sr. is the company’s founder and continues to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of J.F. Taylor. Mr. Taylor was the first person from his family to attend college, earning his Bachelor of Science in Physics from Providence College in 1961. He also holds a Degree of Electrical Engineering and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Post Graduate School, as well as a Master of Science in Administration of Science and Technology from George Washington University. Mr. Taylor served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Commander in 1981. After retiring from the Navy, Mr. Taylor worked as a Program Manager at Electromagnetic Technology, Inc. (EMT) before founding J.F. Taylor, Inc.
Wayne Taylor was named President of J.F. Taylor in 2011. Prior to becoming President, Wayne served as Vice President of Business Operations for 20 years. Wayne earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Towson University in 1986. Wayne started part-time in 1983, while still in college, and has been involved with J.F. Taylor since the company’s founding. For over 30 years at J.F. Taylor, Wayne has managed all aspects of business operations, including human resources, accounting, contracts, proposals, procurement, and facilities.
John Taylor, Jr. has over 30 years of engineering and program management experience in his role as Vice President of Engineering Services. John earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and graduated Magna Cum Laude. He joined J.F. Taylor in 1983 and was the catalyst to developing our hardware engineering expertise where he designed and developed real-time data recorders for flight testing. For the past 23 years, John has been responsible for all Acquisition and Test and Evaluation Services efforts.
As Vice President of J.F. Taylor’s Trainer Products division, Mark Taylor is directly responsible for the management of all trainer products. Mark holds over 25 years of program management experience and over 30 years of professional engineering experience. Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Before joining J.F. Taylor, Mark worked as an electrical and software engineer at General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas. Mark developed our software capability in the earlier years and led our efforts to build our trainer products group. He has also been the driving force behind our commitment to certified quality processes.
As Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing, Dave Sydnor is directly responsible for the technical aspects of engineering design, fabrication, and development. Dave has been with J.F. Taylor since 1984 and has over 30 years of engineering expertise. Dave earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology. Dave previously served as the Lead Electrical Engineer for the Comm/Nav/ID (CNI) Hardware Development Team and Aircrew Procedure Trainer development projects, among other engineering accomplishments. Dave continues to serve as the lead Systems Engineer directly responsible for all engineering and fabrication activities across all training device programs.
As Vice President of Simulation Services, Lloyd Montgomery brings over 23 years of operations and management experience supporting the Manned Flight Simulator facility at NAVAIR. Lloyd holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Math from Denison University, as well as a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from the Florida Institute of Technology. Lloyd began working for J.F. Taylor in 1993, has served as the Lab Operations Manager at Manned Flight, and currently serves as Program Manager for the 5.4.3 Simulation Division contracts.
As Vice President of Products, Matt Campbell is responsible for overseeing the management and delivery of aircraft system, laboratory, and training products. Before joining J.F. Taylor 25 years ago, Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech. At J.F. Taylor, Matt has supported various programs in flight testing and hardware design. As his experience grew, he became a key Systems Engineer on a number of important mission systems upgrade programs in support of NAVAIR. Matt has been involved in program management and other leadership roles with the company for the past 10 years.
Tina Shade is responsible for human resources, recruiting, security, IT, facilities, and administration. Tina also provides company-wide executive duties supporting the Office of the President. Tina has been with J.F. Taylor for almost 20 years. She was initially hired to manage administration, but quickly became our Recruitment Manager. Over the years, her responsibilities have grown to include leadership roles in most Business Office operations. Tina’s efforts have been instrumental in meeting the increased requirements from J.F. Taylor’s recent growth while maintaining our professional, employee-oriented culture. She has been a crucial factor in developing the processes in our evolution from 100+ employees and one facility to 500+ employees and 10 facilities.
As Vice President, Jeff Taylor serves as a Program Manager for simulator visual system upgrade programs and several engineering services contracts. Jeff has over 20 years of engineering and management experience in software development. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland University College, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Villanova University. Jeff has worked at J.F. Taylor since 1991.
