Great Mills, MD – [December 11, 2025] – JF Taylor has been awarded the CH-53K® Communication, Navigation, and Instrumentation (CNI) Maintenance Trainer contract (N6134025F0125). The program was competitively sourced under the U.S. Navy’s Training Systems Contract (TSC) IV Multiple Award Contract and has a total value of $17.9 million. This effort will include design, fabrication, integration, delivery, installation, test, support and training for the CH-53K CNI Maintenance Trainer at Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, N.C.

The CH-53K CNI trainer will be used as a full-size training device to aid in the development and sustainment of maintenance skills and will support first-level maintenance training of the CH-53K cockpit and avionics systems.

The JF Taylor team includes By Light, which has delivered and supported simulated flight trainers for the Marine Corps for 20 years. Work will be performed at JF Taylor’s engineering and manufacturing facility in Great Mills, Md., and at By Light’s headquarters in McLean, Va., as well in Jacksonville, N.C. The contract is a five-year award that includes on-site support after system delivery.

“JF Taylor is excited to support the Marine Corps’ mission for its most powerful helicopter in the Department of War (DoW). Our comprehensive approach enables rapid warfighter readiness and allows maintainers to train faster with a shallow learning curve. Our partnership with By Light maximizes common training systems interfaces, which delivers significant benefits to the Marine Corps heavy lift helicopter community and NAWCTSD,“ said Chris Wasniak, JF Taylor Chief Operating Officer.
